Clyde Corbin II, Sensei
"Elias's Dad"
"Elias's Dad"
Sensei Clyde Corbin II is a lifelong martial artist, instructor, author, and student of the martial arts whose passion is rooted in the belief that true mastery is a lifelong pursuit.
He holds 3rd Degree Black Belts in American Karate, Shotokan Karate, and Yondo Jiu-Jitsu, as well as a 5th Degree Black Belt in Doce Pares Filipino Martial Arts (FMA). Throughout his competitive career, he has earned multiple World and National Championships in both Kata and Sparring, demonstrating excellence in both the traditional and competitive aspects of the martial arts.
Beyond competition, Sensei Corbin is dedicated to developing character, leadership, and discipline through martial arts instruction. As an author, he seeks to imagine a world that could be and inspire others to create the world they want to see.
His greatest pride is being the father and mentor of Elias Corbin III, a competitive Black Belt who continues the family's martial arts legacy with skill, humility, and determination. Elias has trained diligently for a decade in the martial arts. His hard work has garnered him regional, national and international titles in Kata, Weapons, and Sparring. He believes in his dad’s saying: “ It’s easier to BECOME a Black Belt, than to BE a Black Belt.”
Whether parenting, teaching, writing, competing, or training, Sensei Corbin remains committed to the philosophy that a black belt is not a destination but a responsibility—a commitment to continuous growth, service to others, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
